SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Asiatica Ampoule REVIEW

September 2, 2020

A pleasant Wednesday morning to everyone! I am here to present a complete review of one of my absolute favorite products to date, the SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Asiatica Ampoule. I have mentioned this several times before, my skin truly loves Centella Asiatica products thus, I was tremendously excited when the brand chose me to review their ampoule and masks. They have also sent a few samples of their other products as well. But today, the limelight is on for their ampoule. Scroll down to find out how it fared!

BRAND HISTORY:

Skin1004 is a leading South Korean brand specializing in skincare products whose star ingredient is Centella Asiatica, more specifically, gathered from Madagascar – the untouched, clean nature. The brand has formally launched back in 2012.

This beloved brand boasts of formulating their products with nothing but natural raw materials that promise to deliver no less than purity and freshness to their consumers’ skin. This essentially reflects their devotion to clean nature by producing quality skincare products without the following:

NO Animal Testing
NO Artificial fragrance
NO Artificial color
Alcohol-free
Paraben-free

PRICE: Currently priced at PHP 905.00, originally PHP 1,736.00 but it’s on 40% off! (Kindly check out the link of the store at the bottom part of my review.)

VOLUME: 100 ML

INGREDIENTS: Centella Asiatica Extract 100%

USAGE
I use this just like any other ampoule, which is after cleansing, toning/essence, and then this. Since it’s very lightweight, I tend to use it with 2 to 3 layers for extra hydration then pat it on your face until it sets.

CLAIMS: It is suitable with sensitive/acne-prone skin.

THOUGHTS

Packaging – The first thing that will come to your mind when you see the bottle is that it is huge! There is 100 ML of product housed in a very sleek, transparent, brownish bottle with a dropper. It is kinda heavy and you might think that it is not travel friendly because of its bulkiness. But then again, you can always transfer it to a smaller container if you wish to bring it along with you. In my case, I transferred some to a spray bottle and use it as a mist so I can reach out for it anytime whenever I wish to hydrate my face.

Texture – I hope that my shot was able to justify how lightweight this is. It almost resembles water when it comes to weight that you will almost feel as though it was non-existent! There is no color to it as well and you might be confused. It is the bottle that’s colored and not the actual product.

Scent – I will try my best to describe the scent. Imagine the scent of plants, or the scent of the earth right after a fresh rain? That is what it reminds me of, smells earth-y, if I’m making any sense. You can tell outright that it is raw and natural. That distinct smell of raw products that I truly love and appreciate. It is not overpowering at all, in fact, it’s very faint and calming.

Application – As I’ve mentioned above in the “Usage”, I tend to apply about 2 to 3 layers of this product, specifically every night because it is very lightweight. I feel like I can even add another layer and it will still not leave my face feeling sticky. Application is very convenient because of the dropper that will help you control the amount of product you wish to dispense. Not only that, it’s effortless to spread on the face. Again, just like water.

Effect – I’ve already predicted this, as expected, my skin totally loves this product. I am very particular with new products to use on my skin because it’s hypersensitive but Centella Asiatica really works miracles on me. This ampoule has given me that powerful hydration that can last the whole day, it lessens my everyday redness, it calms my irritated skin, and most importantly, it dries my pimples fast!

RATING: 5/5. You know how the affordability of the products I review makes such an impact in my ratings. This one, I believe, even though it was originally priced at almost PHP 2,000.00, I will definitely rate this a perfect 5. The amount of product alone already speaks for itself. 100 ML of product for an ampoule is very surprising, a pleasant one though. It’s very economical too since you don’t really need a lot for one routine. This will last me for a long time, for sure.

Furthermore, I truly appreciate the advocacy of the brand in creating products that soothe acne and skin troubles only through Pure ingredients, from clean nature. I am a wife who’s trying to conceive, which is why I usually go for products that are organic and 100% safe.

Lastly, it does its job really well. Lightweight? Check! Calms the skin? Check! Hydration? Check! It’s an all in one product that I will always love to have in my stash.

REPURCHASE? Absolutely!
