PYUNGKANG YUL Nutrition Cream is the Season’s Best Moisturizer for Dry Skin!

February 18, 2020

It’s so cold these days here in the mountains. It’s usually the start of Summer here come February but it still feels like Christmas. While I’m an inborn greasy girl, I still experience dry skin during colder days. Dry skin equates to aging skin so that’s a big, fat NO. I’m focusing on hydration more to address both my anti-aging and dry skin concerns. That’s one job for the moisturizer and I’m currently enjoying one. A skin care routine staple right now is the Pyunkang Yul Nutrition Cream. It’s not new in the market and it’s said to be one of the best moisturizers for dry skin that also functions as an anti-aging weapon.

This product was generously gifted by Go Bloom and Glow last month. I’ve posted about their gift box recently and this one is included in the loot. Let me remind you about my discount code too in case you’d like to purchase! It’s BASILANRA100, that’s PHP 100.00 off your bill when you buy a minimum of Php 1,000.00. You can use this link to purchase.

Anyway, let’s read on and find out whether we’re indeed hitting two birds with one stone, or jar rather!

Pyungkang Yul was launched as a branch of South Korea’s well-known Pyunkang Oriental Medicine Clinic, an institution that specializes in the treatment of atopic skin diseases. The brand has been largely concentrating on protecting and strengthening the skin barrier using only safe and natural ingredients and thereby eliminating unnecessary chemical substances from their products.

The Nutrition Cream is a powerhouse moisturizer formulated to replenish skin’s hydration and help retain it. It claims to be perfect for dull and tired skin.

Pyunkang Yul Nutrition Cream in 9ML, housed in their signature Royal Blue packaging.

VOLUME: 9ML (also available in full size 100ML)

PRICE: PHP 150.00 (PHP 1,680.00 for the full sized jar)

  • Deeply penetrates the skin and helps hold moisture.
  • Plumps, softens, protects and slows down skin aging.
  • Melts into the skin instantly, no greasy residue and creates a smooth base for the next routine.

  • Astragalus Membranaceus Root Extract – deemed as a miracle herb, it enhances our cell’s natural ability to hold moisture that is critical to repair.
  • Shea Butter – contains anti-inflammatory and healing properties. Using shea butter on your body, especially your face, can condition, tone, and soothe your skin
  • Beeswax – contains antiviral, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial properties that are fundamental in fighting chapped skin and bacterial infections that tend to affect us most in the dry/ winter seasons.
Thick, creamy texture that is lightweight and easily spreadable.

Astragalus Membranaceus Root Extract, Butylene Glycol, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Butylene Glycol Dicaprylate/Dicaprate, Hydrogenated Polydecene, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Cyclopentasiloxane, Cetearyl Alcohol, Macadamia Integrifolia Seed Oil, Polysorbate 60, 1,2-Hexanediol, Beeswax, Glyceryl Stearate, Cyclohexasiloxane, Sodium Hyaluronate, Sorbitan Sesquioleate, Sodium Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Isohexadecane, Polysorbate 80, PEG-100 Stearate, Glyceryl Caprate

I use this moisturizer twice a day as second to the last step of both my AM and PM routines.

To start with, I am obsessed with the packaging. Pyungkang Yul is outright striking for its signature Royal Blue packaging, which happens to be my favourite color. I’m instantly biased there you see? It’s also free of anything frilly and fancy. There’s only a plain Blue jar with a white sticker label and a black cap, seems modest and upfront. However, I’m not fairly sure if a spatula comes with it. I only have the mini-sized jar with me and it’s logical not to have a free spatula, I can’t say the same for the full-sized variant. I hope there is though.

Now the product itself is a White, thick and rich and gel-like cream with a faint scent. It reminds me of citrus for some reason, but you’d only notice the scent if you smelled it really closely. While it’s indeed thick, the cream is very lightweight. True to its claims, it is easily spreadable, sets in rather quickly and dries semi-matte without tackiness. It leaves on a glow, a sign of a healthy and well-hydrated skin.

At the moment, I’m using the cream religiously. It’s pretty cold in our place lately and I’m experiencing a bit of dryness mostly on my cheeks or U-zone. This moisturizer has been a great help in eliminating that dryness and has kept my skin looking plump throughout the day.

Right after application, looks almost set but not quite. No tackiness there though!

RATING: 8/10. I love this cream. I believe it’s the best moisturizer for dry skin. It does reduce dry patches so this would be a perfect staple in your routine during cold weather/winter season. It also contains anti-inflammatory properties which means it’s a versatile product that addresses multiple skin conditions in one scoop.

Having said that, I deducted 2 points for being expensive, and I’m pertaining to the full-sized variant. Affordability is everything to me and honestly, I cannot afford to purchase this right after I’m done with it. I’d really love to get the full-sized product for myself but I guess I’ll have to do with the mini one, for the time being.

Sets into semi-matte finish, leaves on a healthy glow!

REPURCHASE: The mini one? YES. The full sized one will have to wait for now. But if you have the means to shell out some extra cash for the full size, I say go for it! And don’t forget to use my discount code BASILANRA100 to get PHP 100.00 off your bill, minimum purchase of Php 1,000.00. You may directly purchase using this link.
