These are memoirs of a great moral and political figure, an international hero whose lifelong dedication to the fight against racial oppression in South Africa won him the 1993 Nobel Peace Prize and the presidency of his country. 'Long Walk to Freedom' is his exhilarating story. Mandela recounts his youth, as the foster son of a Thembu chief, raised in the traditional tribal culture of his ancestors as he grew to learn the inescapable reality of apartheid oppression. He tells of his early years as an impoverished student and law clerk in Johannesburg and of his slow political awakening. He also describes his personal struggles at that time of having to reconcile his political activity with family, the anguished breakup of his first marriage, and the painful separation from his children. The escalating political warfare in the 1950s between the ANC and the government is vividly brought to life, culminating in Mandela's dramatic escapades as an underground leader and the notorious Rivonia Trial of 1964, at which he was sentenced to life imprisonment. He recounts the surprisingly eventful 27 years in prison and the complex negotiation which led to both his freedom and to the beginning of apartheid's end.

"He Walks with Dragons" takes place when what was, what is, and what shall be were one in the same. Draig, a boy on the verge of his manhood, is summoned to the majestic mountain by the Great Ones. There he finds out he is about to transcend the ages and risk his life to prevent the destruction of mankind. Born into the naïve innocence of ancient man, Draig lives a simple pastoral existence in a quiet, small village. But one day he is flung on a magical journey into a forbidden new world. There, Draconos, a dragon, befriends the boy, training him in the art of warfare. From this day forward, the young boy finds himself in awe at the wonders the world holds for him. Not only has Draig become a man, but he is living like a dragon and learning their mystical powers. “From the time Man first crawled upon this earth…we found him worthy to take his rightful place among the creatures that walk upon the earth. While hiding in the shadows, we have protected him. We have nurtured him all these many ages. But now man grows in great numbers and makes war on everything he sees.” And when the time comes, will Draig be willing to lay down his life for the sake of saving the dragons? And when the dragons are gone, where will he go? He is no longer just a man.

Spiritual Bedrock Reclaiming Your Inner Connection to Truth Sylvia Hutchinson Spiritual Bedrock celebrates reconnecting with and living by our innate sense of Truth. In this book, Sylvia Hutchinson uses her experience to illustrate how easily looking for fulfillment in external sources can lead to the loss of feelings of security, connectedness, and wellbeing. Spiritual Bedrock is a straightforward look into Sylvia Hutchinson's mind and heart. As she shares her journey into multiple addictions and back, she reveals how the abandonment of her inner knowing and her integrity brought her to a world of separation and loss. She describes the desperation and hopelessness she experienced with directness and honesty. Sylvia then relates how she emerged from that deep emotional and spiritual bottom to reclaim her peace of mind and joy in life. She presents specific methods she has found to access and honor her emotions, transform thought processes and behavior patterns, access her inner wisdom, and reunite with her Higher Self. The spiritual nature of our daily lives, as supported by worldwide traditional wisdom, is a central theme throughout Sylvia Hutchinson's writing. In Spiritual Bedrock, Sylvia explains in down to earth language how living increasingly in accord with this age-old wisdom, or Universal Truth, is not only possible, but practical, and is the process by which we can feel whole once more.

When the world says, "Let your emotions lead you," we as Christ-followers must find a different course, navigating through the minor whirlpools, unpredictable winds, and sometimes ferocious hurricanes. Christ's words and actions guide our ships into deeper waters and beyond to the other shore. This book explores scriptural anchoring points, personality influence, and past experiences to give us a new vision of the weighted tension between letting loose with our feelings or cinching up and ignoring them altogether. As human beings, we are created with emotional dimension, and within Christ, we are called to surrender these feelings, using them in a healthy and biblical way.

Because of the many roles he has played in the country, Looking Back is much more than Dr. Sama Banya's life story. In a lively and entertaining manner, he takes the reader through the chequered history of Sierra Leone from the colonial era to the present providing, along the way, accounts of the origin of Kailahun, his home town, the Kissy/Mende chiefs from whom he descends, life in Bo School where he had the early part of his secondary school education, as well as insights into the workings of the civil service in his day. A physician by profession, Dr. Sama BAnyha is best known as a politician. He served as a cabinet minister under two presidents, and his deep knowledge of political machinations in Sierra Leone as seen from both sides of the parliamentary divide, makes this autobiography an altogether fascinating read.

This action packed reader-gripping book is a grueling harsh journey of Zimbabweans who cross borders into South Africa illegally, in search of greener pastures. Their worst nightmare is not only the crocodile infested river Limpopo that they cross, but also what they locally call Amagumaguma, a notorious gang of thieves and contract slayers who prey on the little possessions they migrate with, rape or sodomize them and ruthlessly butcher the vulnerable in order to sell their body parts to local witchdoctors and those afar. These grisly murderers have laid into graves many lives! The ill-fated border jumpers also have to contend with vicious, ravenous predators like lions, leopards and hyenas and other such carnivores in search of easy prey. Brutal soldiers vigilantly guarding these borders for trespassers also add to their woes. Of course, these law-breaking border-jumpers have those who help them out. For a fee of a thousand five hundred rands or two hundred American dollars, the Malayisha (cross-border taxi drivers) transport them from various parts of Zimbabwe to the Beit-Bridge border post, where they are handed over to the Impisi (escorts) at secluded rendezvous outside the border posts. These Impisi are paid by the Malayisha to escort their passengers without passports, across river Limpopo right up to near Musina in South Africa where they pick them up again and take them to Johannesburg. The border jumpers however risk all these predators that hunt down anything that moves throughout the night. In the novel, we meet Themba Khumalo who had always wanted to go to the lucrative South Africa but did not have Malayisha' s fees until when his father died, he inherited two of his father's donkeys and gave them to a local Malayisha as payment in kind, for the fees to take him to Johannesburg. What he did not know was that where he was going, the familiar became mysterious and the unfamiliar, gruesome and bizarre indeed! It was a place of delusion and paradox with a very thin line between life and death, as too many predatory eyes were fixed on the prey!

The whole premise for this book came from a choice I made in my life to live more intentionally. I was tired of walking through this life without a plan and treating those around me indifferently. Living a life with intentionality necessarily means that I had to do a lot of the following: 1. Thinking 2. Meditating 3. Planning 4. Experimenting My heart's desire is to live a life whereby I am growing, spiritually, mentally, physically and emotionally. My desire is to have deeper and more meaningful relationships with those near and dear to my heart. To pour into others and be a mentor and encourager to my friends, family and co-workers. Consider how you can be more intentional in the following areas of your life: Time - we all have the same amount of time each day (24 hours). How are you going to spend that time? Talents - what are the skills and abilities that you have? Are you using them appropriately? How can you be more intentional about using your talents in a positive and meaningful way? Treasure - this is a tough one for many people. Being intentional about how you spend, save, give and invest your money will take time and thoughtful effort on your part. You must know how each dollar is spent and how you are going to use your money. If you can consistently be intentional about these three areas of your life, I believe you will find your life much more fulfilling.
