ELIZAVECCA Milky Piggy Glutinous Mask Snail Cream Review

February 26, 2020

It was late last year when I got in touch with popular Korean Beauty Brand Elizavecca Milky Piggy. They asked me to choose two from their massive product selection in exchange for an honest review. I chose this Glutinous Mask Snail Cream together with the Centella Asiatica 100% Essence since both contain two of my Holy Grail ingredients, Centella Asiatica and Snail Secretion Filtrate. These two ingredients are well known for their wound-healing and hydrating properties, making them both perfect for my anti-aging skin care routine. I have already posted a full review on the essence, kindly click here in case you haven’t seen it. I’m reviewing the Snail Cream this time. Read on and let’s see how we’d like it!

First of all, is there any K-Beauty enthusiast who has not yet heard about the brand Elizavecca? I doubt it! The brand may be deemed ‘young’ in the South Korean Beauty Market as they have just recently boomed into the industry for their iconic Milky Piggy Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask but they have been around for a while, say 1968 (ikr!). They have already made quite a name globally, chiefly due to their very fun and adorable packaging and an astounding massive selection of skincare products for very reasonable prices.

A moisturizing cream that contains 80% snail mucin that whitens and smoothens wrinkles, also free from mineral oils and silicone.

Elizavecca Glutinous snail Cream’s super cute packaging!

I apply a generous amount all over my face and neck during PM routine, before sleeping pack.

Look at that creamy texture!

First things first, let me just say that Elizavecca products have the most adorable packaging! This is one of the factors why I consider myself a superficial buyer. Aesthetics sometimes cloud my judgement and I let myself be tempted into getting the cute ones. I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one guilty of it though!

Anyway, so the product is housed in a 100ML plastic tub with a protective lid before the cap, and a free spatula. There’s this very mild fragrance upon opening the lid. As expected, there were gooey threads clinging onto the protective lid when I pulled it up. This is another childish thing that I like with snail secretion filtrate, the threads lol. Upon application, I noticed that there’s this very faint cooling sensation, as though I just took it out from the fridge. It was very relaxing and helps soothe my daily redness and irritations.

What I love about this the most is that my skin looks radiant every time I wake up the next morning. You see, I have trouble sleeping at night but whenever I use this mask, my skin still looks well-rested and healthy. It also keeps my skin hydrated without the heaviness. I either use this as a moisturizer, applying a single layer during day time, or about two layers whenever I decide to use this as sleeping mask during evenings.

RATING: 8/10. My skin obviously likes snail secretion filtrate and this one is probably my favorite snail product thus far. The tub is a bit bulky but it’s not much of a problem. You can transfer to a smaller jar if you’re travelling. On the other hand, if you’ve read the ingredients written above, you will also notice that there’s a lot of Fungal Acne triggering ingredients as well as comedogenic ones. While I don’t necessarily suffer from Fungal Acne, I wouldn’t recommend this to those who have.

Sorry I only took a screencap but you can see the thread of slime here

REPURCHASE: As soon as I finish the tub, I will repurchase.

*PR/Gifted but all thoughts are my own*

Much Love,
